News Feeds
Web Links

I'm linked up to some great newsfeeds dealing with music industry news, music and sound production, sound engineering and more.  They are RSS feeds, so you can subscribe to them yourself if you have an RSS newsreader or start page that lets you subscribe to them.

  • Technology   (3)

Newsfeeds about computers, gadgets, and related technology. Check out some beautiful Hubble Space Telescope pictures or read articles from the NASA Earth Observatory. And, you can't go wrong with Slashdot... News for Nerds; Stuff that Matters.

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
-- Web Link Arthur C. Clarke

  • Audio and Video   (6)

Newsfeeds related to the audio and video production industry. Check out Friday Morning Quarter Back (FMQB) with their recording industry news. Also, Music Industry News from HomeRecordingConnection.com and Record-Producer.com. You'll also find recording tips and techniques from RhythmDesign.us and StudioRecordingEngineer.com. If you really want some audio deepness, check out the Sound Recording White Papers repository feed from ITPapers.com

Studio Jargon
Sine Wave
A geometrical waveform having a curve defined by the function y= sin x. In theory there are no other partials present and it can therefore be considered as the basic component from which (by combination) all other waveforms are made. It is the basic building block of all sound. Sometimes used quite incorrectly to describe pure tones irrespective of waveform. See also See also Pulse Wave, Ramp Wave, Square Wave, Triangle Wave.
