RSS Newsfeeds

I'm linked up to some great newsfeeds related to music production and sound engineering.  They are RSS feeds, so you can subscribe to them yourself if you have an RSS newsreader or start page that lets you subscribe to them.

Sound Recording contains the latest white papers posted at ITPapers.com.  Some very valuable information and concepts in there... and a lot of stuff I don't understand. :-]

Record Producer has fresh content daily and proclaims that it has "All you need to know about Sound Engineering and Music Recording"... though, that's doubtful; they're still pretty cool.

And, you can't go wrong with Slashdot.  As they say, "News for Nerds, Stuff that Matters."  Great geek site.

Those are the best ones, I think... but, I'm always looking for more.

Ramp Wave
A geometrical waveform typically generated by an oscillator. It resembles a series of ramps placed nose to tail. It has all possible harmonic partials (odd and even numbered). The amplitude of each harmonic is the reciprocal of its number in the series (i.e. the 5th. harmonic is a 5th. the amplitude of the 1st.) It has a very powerful and brassy timbre. It sounds the same whether the ramp rises left to right or falls left to right. Sometimes called sawtooth. See also See also Pulse Wave, Sine Wave, Square Wave, Triangle Wave.
