Make your own pro audio and video cables.

If you're handy with a soldering iron, you don't have to plunk down big bucks for high-quality audio/ cables like Buy It! Monster Cables.  They're great cables, don't get me wrong... and if you can't use a soldering iron or just plain don't want to mess with it; By all means, get you some!

The people over at Revision3 have released the fouth episode in their SYSTM Internet TV show.  And, man does it rock!  In the latest episode, they take you step buy step on making your own pro audio and video cables just as good as the ones that cost big bucks without breaking the bank.  They also explain some technical aspects of the type of their web site.  Be warned, though... it is a big-ass download.

Check out Web Link the other episodes on setting up a MYTH TV system and building a War Spying box.  Awesome good stuff, ya'll!

MIDI
An agreed standard for communication between electronic musical equipment such as Buy It! synthesisers, samplers and other devices such as Buy It! computers. The core function of the standard is to allow information describing musical peformance (which notes were played, how loud they should be, plus articulations such as "bending" of notes or vibrato etc.) to be capable of transmission from one machine to another. The Buy It! recording of such information for later replay is called sequencing. The standard also includes many functions which are ancillary to this core activity, for example the standardisation of files for sequences (Standard Midi File) and digital audio Buy It! recordings (Sample Dump Standard) and methods of exchanging information that is unique to individual devices (System Exclusive).
