2GeeksinaLab, Inc. have come up with another copy-protection scheme designed to prevent "casual" ripping and burning of CDs and DVDs. Also, to prevent real "pirates" from copying material and selling it. They call it "Global Garde"... ooooo, I'm getting chills already.
Perhaps they haven't heard of "fair use" before? If I buy a freaking movie or album, I've got a right to back it up or copy it to any play device I have. What I DON'T have a right to do is give a copy to my pals or sell copies to anyone.
If I remember correctly, it has already been Demonstrated by people who know way more about it than I do, that it is impossible to create "unbreakable" copy protection. So, you can be sure that the very people who priate content and sell it will not be affected by this... some crack will come out about a week after this crap gets implemented and the only people who will suffer will be the consumer who can't exercise their "fair-use" rights with content they legally purchased.
For the real warez pirates, it'll be business as usual.
