 Lt. Hikaru Sulu, Helmsman of the Starship Enterprise (NCC-1701, if you please), otherwise known in the real world as beloved trek veteran actor, George Takei, has apparently been "Boldly Going" where supposedly 10% of the U.S. male population goes... to other men. 
68-year-old Takei "came out" in the current issue of Frontiers, a gay/lesbian magazine in Los Angeles, CA. He told them that he has been with his partner, Brad Altman, for 18 years. I was also shocked to read that from the ages 4 - 8, he lived in a U.S. internment camp.
