MP3 Format Becoming Less Popular? |

 According to an article at Wired.com, the MP3 audio format is beginning to loose it dominance on your hard drive. There has been a 10% drop, from 82% to 72%, from last year according to the NPD Group's MusicWatch Digital.
Microsoft's WMA and Apple's iTunes formats each gained 5% over last year.
My favorite quote from the article: "Many consumers ripping (WMA or AAC) may actually think they're ripping into MP3..."
That only proves that the unwashed masses are simply using whatever software is being thrown at them and can't be bothered with the whole issue of format in the first place. They simply want to be able to rip a CD to their iPod or whatever, and be on their merry way.
