Pew Internet & American Life Project has surveyed the kids and found that they are brazenly ignoring copyright laws and depriving artists of their well-deserved revenue. I think that the RIAA should start suing all teenagers immediately since the odds are that no matter who they sue, they are likely to be suing a copyright violator... that should justify it right away.
Not only does the survey indicate that 33% of teens share content (you know it HAS to be illegal content), they also BLOG... oh, the horror!
From the article:
- 33% of online teens share their own creative content online, such as artwork, photos, stories or videos.
- 32% say that they have created or worked on webpages or blogs for others, including groups they belong to, friends or school assignments.
- 22% report keeping their own personal webpage.
- 19% of online teens keep a blog, and 38% of online teens read blogs.
- 19% of internet-using teens say they remix content they find online into their own artistic creations.
According to the survey, over half (57%) of online teens admit to downloading music. RIAA attorneys, start your word processors. The subpoenas will now begin.
